What is God’s Name?

It is true there are many so-called gods in the world today. The Muslims call their god Allah, the Buddhists call their god, Buddha, the witches and satanists call their god, Lucifer, and so on.

But who is the God of the Jews and Christians?

Does He have a personal name? How do we know we are praying to the right god? The answer is YAHWEH (or YHVH in Hebrew).

Why is it important to know this? Because the Holy Bible tells us that the Judeo-Christian God is the ONLY TRUE GOD, whose name is above all other names, the Almighty God, who created heaven and earth. All other gods are false gods.

“You shall have no other gods before me.” – Exodus 20:3

“I am the LORD, and there is no other, besides me there is no God…” – Isaiah 45:5

“And many false prophets will arise and lead many astray.” – Matthew 24:11

If we believe that Jesus Christ was the Son of God, then we must also believe the Holy Bible which says that He alone is Savior and Lord of all, that “…at the Name of Jesus, every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is LORD, to the glory of Yahweh God the Father” (Philippians 2:9-11).

In the Book of Isaiah 43:11, God declares, “I am the LORD (Yahweh), and besides me, there is no savior.” Therefore, if there is no salvation in any other name or god, it’s obviously important to pray to the right God, not just any god. Don’t you agree?

May the Lord Jesus Christ bless you. Shalom!
